ARTS AND LANGUAGE

Musicals: Meets on the third Monday of the month at 4:30 pm in members' homes. Watch and discuss videos of classical musicals. Diane Novak  and Ed Perkins
Opera Lovers: Meets on the fourth Monday of the month at 4 pm to watch/listen to opera videos and enjoy simple potluck suppers. Possible field trips. Jean Conger  and Ed Perkins
Painting Outdoors: We will have “paint-outs” twice a month in good weather, a couple of hours before sunset for the best light. Charlotte Abernathy and Sybil Russell
Play Reading: Meets the third Friday of each month at 4:00. Willing group members read aloud OSF 2012 season non-Shakespere play and other choices. Focus is on  theater and social gathering.  Annette Lewis and Carolyn Peake
Shakespeare at OSF: Read and discuss the 2012 Shakespeare plays at OSF: Romeo and Juliet, Troilus and Cressida, Hery V, and As You Like It. Meets the second and fourth Wednesday at 1 pm. Annette Lewis and Peggy Audibert

AAUW Adelante Book Club

Brain Books: Read and discuss recent, accessible books on the human brain and mind. Open to the Ashland community. Group meets fourth Tuesday, 1 pm, Guanajuato Room in the Ashland Library. Sandra Coyner
Day Book: Meets the third Wednesday of each month at 1:00.  Book selection is by majority agreement.  Helen Rosen
Evening Book: Meets the second Monday of each month at 7:00. Book selection decided by group. Margaret Dole & Gayle Titus
Mystery Readers: Meets the first Thursday of each month at 1:00. The specific genre of mysteries for each month is selected by the group in June.  Members choose a book to read and discuss from that category or theme. Everyone reads a different mystery book. Sybil Russell

DINING
Dining Out: Meets once a month on Friday or Saturday night at different restaurants. Usually meets at 6 pm for cocktails before dinner.  Francene Bernest
Gourmet Cooking: Participatory gourmet cooking. Prepare regional dishes and learn new cooking techniques. Meets several times per year. Sunny Anderson and Elaine Sweet
Let's Do Lunch: A very informal get together to sample various restaurants for lunch.  The place and date will vary month to month.   Pat Knoble & Diana Quirk
Potluck Lunch/Suppers: Meets 4-6 times a year. A great opportunity to meet other members for a casual lunch or dinner. Elaine Sweet
Tasting Adventures: Meets monthly, usually on a Tuesday evening. Sample an interesting variety of foods and beverages, typically in a member's home. Francene Bernest & Diane Novak

Genealogy: Enjoy exploring the history of your ancesteors and organize their fascinating stories into information easily accessible to you and your family.  Work on your family tree with us - beginners welcome. Meets fourth Thursday, 12:30 pm, for lunch and meeting. Norma D’Isidoro
Knitters & Stitchers: Meets the second Thursday of each month at 1 pm. We welcome all knitters stichers or crafters (non-messy projects please) who work any any level of experience.
